Sizzling Summer Chic!
It’s summer and I’m living for light, breezy dresses right now. This season you’ve literally walked into the garden of summer fashion. Painterly florals of every size and shape decorate everything from dresses to blouses to skirts. Dazzling shades of citrus and ever-so-cool neutrals make you thirst for an ice-cold glass of lemonade. Pink in hues from rich fuchsia to blush reminds us that femininity (and peonies) abounds. Take part in the color obsession! Infuse your lazy summer days with a wake up call that pops with bright, fruity hues.
As for me, I’m practically head-to-toe in purple, as hot a color this season as it was last. A purple shift dress with a few frontal pleats, my rose-gold, peep-toe flats for running around town, and my to-die-for T-series Women’s Chronograph with its wisteria-colored band. I’m even eating purple organic blackberry jam, spread with peanut butter on a toasted English muffin.
But if dressing in Technicolor isn’t your thing, then embrace the classic, sharp black and white options of the season. From graphic to geometric prints, black and white flatters. Pair with a black-faced watch with silver link bracelet and you’ll be the sophisticated lady of any sultry evening.
Back to my purple shift dress. It’s not quite noon, and I’ve already received three compliments. One from a mommy at my daughter’s co-op playgroup (“That’s the cutest dress!”) and two from my favorite neighborhood postal workers at the local office who thought I’d lost weight (bless them) and wanted to know my secret for ‘glowing so.’
So there you have it. It’s easy to get into the seasonal swing of things. Don a flirty dress. Try a fresh color. Slap on some fun shoes. Out you go!
In a fashion frame of mind,
