It’s getting hot. Blazing hot. Rather than stand in front of a fan or blast the air conditioning, let’s cool down with some of summer’s latest fashion offerings.

Opt for playful frocks that are short and bright. Not sure what hue? You’ll win with hot pink, green, purple or blue. I adore this blue-faced watch with textured dial and stainless steel bracelet that will go with any colorful dress. Or wear a floral print dress cinched with a basic belt in brown, black or white for flair. Add a headband of any incarnation — faux flower, knotted scarf, big bow, ribbon — for a truly sassy statement.

Don last season’s gladiator sandals to complete the look. If you missed out on that Russell Crowe moment, invest in some strappy cutout sandals with a stiletto heel for added height.

Before you step outside, block out the sun and balance your outfit with a pair of over-sized sunglasses – colored glasses are chic right now, too, but classic black or brown lenses always keep your look in focus.
