Brush up your summer look

Everyone is talking about staycations and there is nothing like a summer casual, floor-length maxi dress to make you feel like you’ve landed on a tropical island without leaving town. Try a dress with an ethnic print or a solid-hued dress with eclectic, Boho jewelry to give you that well-traveled feel. Pair with a pastel leather-banded watch to keep things casual. Whatever you do, don’t let the hem drag on the floor. Invest in tailoring so it hits right at your ankles.

And since you are bringing attention to your feet, why not skip the usual flip flops? Showcase your self-painted pedicure with the allure of comfortable strappy sandals whether gladiator or thong. Shining crystals, turquoise beads, shimmering metallics–all elevate this “flats” moment as a pinnacle trend and definite burst of style sunshine.

And the livin’s easy…

Fresh out of a relaxing and fun-filled 4th of July getaway, try stretching some extra mileage out of your weekend wear with one of my go-to style choices for summer:

Synonymous with warm weather and open neck lines are strong, flowing necklaces — the kind you toss on and wear for days with a variety of different looks. A fun, drippy metallic style is versatile, but not for layering (that’s last season!). Wear one heavy piece that’s fabulous and call it a day.

Sculpted shoes defy gravity with cut outs and bold angles that look like architectural wonders. Decidedly fashion forward, feel free to interpret this trend with practicality and play with other colorful accessories — like a purple pump paired with a cream-colored watch.
